About MalaMala

MalaMala’s thrilling game viewing is a prime draw-card for some of the world’s most renowned wildlife photographers and filmmakers. It should therefore come as no surprise that MalaMala has also provided the subject-matter for many a celebrated wildlife book, such as long-time MalaMala ranger Nils Kure’s Living with Leopards, currently one of the most in-depth scientific studies of this elusive cat.

Flap! Flap! Swish! Swish! Mala Mala!
By Max Waugh

Max Waugh - guest and photographer extraordinaire - has just published a book app for iPad/iPhone using the photos he took from his visit to MalaMala.

This children's picture book tells the story of Mhumhi the Wild dog. Mhumhi comes to a place called MalaMala where he looks for new friends to play with. Mhumhi uses his large ears ("Listen! Listen!") to find other animals in MalaMala. He hears the sounds they are making and sees the fun they are having and wants to join in.

The book features 31 pages of color photos depicting various species of South African wildlife. The story is told in simple text, appropriate for reading to children ages 3 and up.
