CAMPBELL KOPPIES FEMALE 10 YEARS 2 MONTH
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(1 sighting)
She was only found once during the month, she was at Mlowathi dam resting when found. The female moved north from the dam and slowly crossed over the boundary at sunset. She was in great shape and let hope it won’t be long before her cubs are born.
October 2009
CAMPBELL KOPPIES FEMALE 10 1 MONTH YEARS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(1 sighting)
She was only seen once this month at Mlowathi dam. She moved east from the dam and was looking to hunt around the donga systems. As she went she was scent marking which is a good sign for us that she still considers this her territory. She should be half way through her pregnancy and so hopefully in the near future we will have a new generation to welcome.

CAMPBELL KOPPIES FEMALE 10 YEARS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(3 sighting)
This leopard seems to be baring the fruit of the mating with the Gowrie male just over a month ago. Although she has not been seen often on the few occasions that she has been seen she was hunting up near Mlowathi dam. Here belly seems a little swollen and hopefully it will bare the fruit of another litter for this successful leopard. However she appears to be in very good condition and we hope that some additions to our leopard population will be along shortly.

July 2009
9 YEARS 10 MONTHS
3 CUBS 6 MONTHS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(1 sighting)
Seen only once during the month she provided much excitement when she was found mating with the Gowrie male. Found close to Mlowathi dam the pair mated often as they moved towards the Gowrie boundary. As rare an opportunity it is to see leopards mating this one was tinged with sadness as this mating confirms that her three cubs born in February must be dead. Hopefully though this mating will be successful and a new generation will soon be with us.
June 2009
9 YEARS 9 MONTHS
3 CUBS 5 MONTHS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(2 sighting)
At the beginning of the report period she was found in the company of the Emsagwen male. The female was flirting with the male and looking to mate. One of the most unforgettable sightings had these two mating leopards chased up a tree by two mating lions with hyaenas circling the area. The following morning she was seen going north towards the boundary and left as she crossed over. Her three young cubs haven’t been seen on Mala Mala but reports from the north are that they are all alive and healthy.
May 2009
9 YEARS 8 MONTHS
3 CUBS 4 MONTHS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(1 sighting)
Only one sighting of this female and it was an unusual one. She was found in attendance with the Emsagwen male and was trying to win him over. The male was having none of it though and would growl at her whenever she came close. This is usual behaviour for courting leopards but what is unusual is that this female has cubs. Whether her cubs have died or been killed is unknown and only time will tell.
March 2009
9 YEARS 6 MONTHS
3 CUBS 2 MONTHS
WESTERN EYREFIELD, MARTHLY
(2 sighting)
She continues to live in Gowrie to the north of the Mlowati, occasionally coming south to hunt or expand her territory. Both times she was seen she was on the hunt, missing on both occasions she returned north. Good news from the rangers to the north is that her cubs have been seen for the first time, she has three cubs about two months in age. As they grow hopefully she will bring south of the boundary.

The Campbell Koppies female was only seen once this month and only very briefly. Her territory is stretching more and more north and we are tending to see her less. We do know that she was lactating when seen so has probably stashed her cubs somewhere in the northern regions of the Mlowathi but as yet we have not seen them.
