Daughter of the Jakkalsdraai female (lightning bolt) - Photographed by ranger Bruce Hedges

December 2008

(4 years 8 months) (1 sighting)
Only seen once this female was found at paradise valley pans looking healthy and quite possibly pregnant. She was seen mating with the male from the windmill a few months ago and so hopefully more leopard cubs will be seen shortly.

November 2008

(4 years 7 months) (0 sighting)
This female was not seen during the report period.

October 2008

(4 years 6 months)

This daughter was only seen once this report period. She seems to have made central Flockfield her own and rangers are pretty confident this is now her territory but due to the vast tracks of land in the area this relaxed female is not often seen.

September 2008

(4 years 5 months)
This leopard was not seen this month.

July 2008

This female was seen twice this month north of her previous area of residence which was northern Charleston. She was seen twice north of the Charleston- Flockfield boundary actively scent marking and looking in very good condition and very relaxed. The next few months in her search for territory will be crucial as she will be competing with older more mature females in that area.

January 2008

Daughter of the Jakkalsdraai female: (lighting bolt). (3 years 9 months)

This young leopard has been seen relatively frequently this month as she patrols her area around the Charleston/Flockfield boundary. He sister has been seen only once this month and that was when she attempted to steal her kill on the Charleston/Flockfield boundary. She is very relaxed around the vehicles and has learnt the art of hunting well from her mother. She was seen to hunt on at least four occasions, and although unsuccessful, she remains diligent and we are sure to see her in full action not too long from now.
