| May 2008 EASTERN MALA MALA, EASTERN EYREFIELD (1 sightings) During the report period the Matshapiri female was only seen once, is does not appear that she is lactation from her mating over two months ago with the Emsagwen male. The leopard was very active when seen moving through her territory is seems she has moved her territory more east and we believe that she is under pressure from the Daughter of the Campbell’s female (strip). April 2008 MATSHAPIRI FEMALE 7 YEARS 6 MONTHS EASTERN MALA MALA, EASTERN EYREFIELD The Matshapiri female was seen only twice. Both times she was
mating with the Emsagwen male. She is in good condition and does
not appear to have difficulty in getting enough food. With the
coming of winter and the drying of the land, we expect to see
this leopard more as she moves toward the Sand River in search
of water. January 2008 MATSHAPIRI FEMALE * 7 YEARS 3 MONTHS Location: EASTERN MALA MALA, EASTERN EYREFIELD his female leopard was not seen a lot during the report period. The younger Daughter of the Campbell Koppies Female (Stripe) has been spending a large amount of time in the Matshapiri Female leopard’s territory and it is probably a result of this that she has not been seen as much. She was seen to be actively hunting, and always-in good condition whenever she has been encountered. Daughter of the Matshipiri female: (2 years 2 months) This leopard was seen once in the last report period. She was hunting steenbok close to the Clarendon Dam area. She has not been seen since.
