"We just came back from South Africa and realized how lucky we were to stay for 2 nights at Mala Mala Main Camp. The camp was marvelous and the game drives amazing. We managed to see the big five in one morning drive. Thanks a lot to our ranger Nic (Nicolas Proust), our tracker Ramire (an amazing guy spotting a lot of animals... we were nearly speechless when he spotted a chameleon somewhere in a tree despite hard rain and complete darkness) and all the other staff of Mala Mala. Looking back to our holidays we realized that we have to come back to Mala Mala during the next few years. And then we will surely stay longer than only two nights!" Fabrice & Sabina

  • Photographs courtesy of Judy and Andrew Smith from Legbourne, Lincolnshire, England, who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 04 - 07 September 2006
"We stayed at Main Camp from 4 to 7 September - all too short a period as you couldn't accommodate us for longer! We were very well looked after by our ranger, Andrew and tracker, John and fired off quite a few photographs using both film and digital cameras. We were fortunate to see two of the beautiful female leopards. One considerately climbed a tree for us, and the other passed within touching distance. We saw much else including cheetah, and the lionesses of the Styx pride with their ill-fated cubs.  At a guess, the single cub pictured was the oldest, and one of the other two, which have more obvious spots, was the survivor which was pictured in the tree-top. We continue to read the sightings diary with keen interest and hope to visit you again before too long."

"I had to share Africa with my 9 & 11 year old children and MalaMala was the only place I wanted to take them.  We were off and running on the first game drive!  It was so full of amazing sights that I was just about speechless.  On our game drives we saw 2 leopards in trees two times on one game drive, leopards mating, a croc eating an impala, cheetah cubs eating a duiker, a leopard eating a duiker in a tree,  lion cubs eating a warthog, kudus mating, Lilac Breasted Rollers mating, a Giant Eagle Owl, giraffes fighting/necking and that's just what I remember off the top of my head.  We heard lions late at night and early in the morning from our room a couple of days.  What an adventure!  My thanks to Nils, Leon and all the rest of the staff for making our stay such an unforgettable experience."

  • Photographs courtesy of Paul & Sarah Martin from London, UK who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 15 - 19 May 2006
"We had 5 fantastic days in Mala Mala last month as part of our honeymoon. It was an amazing time and probably the best travel experience we have ever had. We would like to thank everyone who was involved in making this time so special for us. In particular our ranger Greg Coates and tracker John were fabulous, especially when they found us some previously unseen Cheetahs just as we were about to leave. All our friends back in the UK are now living through ever longer stories of the Manyeleti Leopard enjoying his Impala feast and the unknown group of 4 lions who we tracked after they had killed their male Kudu. We would love to come back."

"Mala Mala has changed my life forever,I went on 8 safaris & every one was exciting & very different.
Thanks mainly to Ranger Anthony Harding & tracker Anton. I saw things I only thought possible on tv, like 6 lionesses hunting & killing a full-grown Kudu (that was exhilirating), also to be a member of the MalaMala 7 club after we spotted 12 wild dogs, thanks mainly to the excitement, knowledge & determination of ranger Anthony Harding. It was without doubt the best holiday I have ever had. Thanks to the staff & rangers for a life changing adventure, which has now my brother wanting to come with me for a visit in hopefully the not to far distant future."
  • Photographs courtesy of Jeffrey Balkind and daughter Emma, who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 27 - 30 March 2006
"I returned this time to Mala Mala main camp, having stayed at the old Harry's Hut in 1996. Again, the visit was spectacular -- the sightings were fantastic (see photos), the knowledge of our ranger Anthony Harding and his tracker were terrific, and the whole courtesy of the staff and camp manager, Tom Bloy, were beyond belief. We will definitely be back and hopefully soon."
  • Photographs courtesy of Rob & Karrin Frilling of Cincinnati, OH USA who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 17 - 19 of March 2006
"We booked our stay at Mala Mala 10 months before our arrival because we knew it was going to be the heart and soul of our African adventure. On March 18th we had one of the most memorable days of lives. We discovered the entire Big 5 in one day, we joined 3 lions on the hunt by starlight, we witnessed 2 leopards in the midst of a territorial struggle, all while being schooled in the culture of the bush by our amazing ranger (Jonathon) and our eagle eyed tracker (Johnson). Thank you for the memories and we can't wait to return."
  • Photographs courtesy of Chris and Callie Shields from Houston, Texas, USA who were guests of ours at MalaMala Main Camp 16 - 18 March 2006
"Callie and I had the best trip of our life. We had John and John guide us. They did the most outstanding job. We saw the big five the 1st evening, unbelievable. I was impressed on how well Big John was able to spot and hear the wildlife. They made our trip one of a kind!!! We were fortunate to see the leopard and the crocodile together as well seeing the 2 male leopards defending their territory. The accommodations at Rattray's has to be the best. Warren was a wonderful host and Clinton selected wonderful wines. Hat's off to everyone at Rattray's for allowing us to have the best trip ever, so far. We look forward to returning.
  • Photographs courtesy of Carol and Charles Rice, who were guests of ours at Rattray's on MalaMala 13 - 16 March 2006
Our time at Rattray's was indescribable, so I'll let some of my photos give you an idea of how wonderful it was. Warmest greetings to our ranger, John, our tracker, John, Clinton who advised us so well, and to Warren who so kindly arranged the hippo (the one in the water). All the best, and thank you all again.

  • Photographs courtesy of Elke and Matt Wood , from the USA who were guests of ours at MalaMala in 16-24 January 2006
"We were fortunate enough to visit Mala Mala twice in the last 12 months,  in July 2005 and also in January 2006.  Here are some of our favorite photos from those visits.  Once again Mala Mala didn't disappoint us!  We can't say enough good things about the entire experience.  The staff are top notch, the camps are fabulous (we've enjoyed them all) and the game viewing is out of this world.  We are already looking forward to our 10th visit, sadly not until 2007. "
