Ngoboswan female and two cubs, Son of Ngoboswan female – 19 April 2008

The Ngoboswan female’s two cubs where found just outside Rattray’s camp hiding in long grass in thick bush. The cubs are very relaxed around the vehicles and soon came out in the open and started to play. The mother was found just to the North of the cubs, moving in their direction. As she started to call for her cubs they ran to greet her. They provided a great sighting jumping and playing. The Ngoboswan female was looking well fed and was more then likely taking the cubs to where she had hidden her kill. As rangers where following the leopard the leopard came across her son from her previous litter. There was a great amount of aggression displayed by the Ngoboswan female as she chased her son, growling and hissing at him. The young male leopard did not return any aggression and was softly calling to his mother, but soon moved east away from her and the cubs.
